My story starts like so many others do, as a little girl growing up in the midwest in the '90s. Following my mother's lead, I became fascinated with photographs & the way humans of the world could be captured in a single moment. My mother started taking photography classes as an interest of hers while putting herself through nursing school & watching her create lit a fire inside my little soul. The young are the most impressionable. I remember using every disposable camera I could get my hands on & saving all my babysitting money to develop those films. I would take pictures of absolutely anything & everything. Objects in the house I grew up in, the humans around me, the plants & animals, EVERYTHING. I saw beauty all around me & I made it my mission to document as much of it as possible.

As I grew older & the world around me entered into the digital age, my little hobby grew & grew. My first digital camera as a teenager was monumental to me! I took photography classes in high school & then in college; Never majoring in photography, but always keeping it in my life.

 

After my first son was born, I knew imagery was the outlet where my creative force resided. The feelings I felt when looking at an image of my son, frozen in time, knowing he kept growing every single minute but comforted by the fact I will always be able to look back - I wanted to share that with my community. For me, the experience itself; being somewhere on this planet with my camera with the intent to try to create & capture something or someone, the essence of it, the spirit of a moment, guided by the light, gives me the greatest satisfaction & joy that I know I want to chase the light the rest of my life.
 

I have been photographing all kinds of families & humans (other than my family) for over four years now while slowly learning photography storytelling & editing processes & all that is possible in this digital world. While the world keeps spinning I keep evolving & it is a sincere hope of mine that I never stop.

When you are investing in a photoshoot with me, you are investing in your memories, the photo books that get passed down to the younger generations from your family. I seek to capture an essence to a person/couple/family that words can't quite literate. My aim with every client is to create an atmosphere to have fun & let loose & heck maybe even act like a kid again! The images we create together are for nothing more than memories. Pieces to the puzzle of your special unique life that show back to you the essence of who you are.

When you invest in me; you are investing in me & my family for without their support it would not even be possible for me to have this outlet. I have two wild little boys ages five and three who keep me on my toes daily. It is important to me to practice being in the present moment when I am with those whom I love the most, it inspires me & grounds me & gives me the strength to be who I am. There will be times when I plan for time off & that will always be the reason, to be with my family.

 

Success to me probably looks different than most, success to me would be constant growth & learning & trying new things, failing & picking myself up every single time taking with me the lessons as they come. Success to me is not a destination but is the yin to failures yang. Both will find me in my pursuit of growth.
